The top 10 characteristics of those who will make it as Church Planters in Northeast Pa.
1. Church Planters who are cross-cultural. As an example: those willing to throw away your Favorite sports team logo clothing and embrace the Eagles or Phillies.
2. Church Planters who are missionary in their thinking. We cannot bring men up here to just start one church. They must come expecting to begin a multitude of churches and proclaiming points that are evangelistic.
3. Church Planters who depend upon God and not the latest book or church planting guru for their vision and implementation strategy.
4. Church Planters who are teachable in our Pennsylvania context.
5. Church Planters who are evangelists first and foremost.
6. Church Planters who are supported by their families. They are all in it together.
7. Church Planters who have a support system for prayer, resources, finances.
8. Church planters who are committed to developing leadership out of the harvest to be the future church planters in Pennsylvania.
9. Church planters who will take time to understand and work the Church Planting Process.
10. Finally Church Planters who want to begin Southern Baptist Churches.
Those who are committed to the Cooperative program and will work together. If we do not work together we will not succeed. (We have no room for those who want to take what we have to offer as Southern Baptist and then do their own thing. These church planters should have the courage to just do their own thing from the beginning.)
